OriginsBotswana has partnered with Matsebe Safaris and will assist with all bookings and queries.
Matsebe Safaris is a mobile safari operator with a long history of operating in Northern and Central Botswana. Matsebe Safaris is operated by Alwyn Myburgh - whose family moved into the interior of the Kalahari desert almost a 100 years ago as cattle and sheep farmers.
Growing up he always had San people around him, nanny’s and later on the men teaching him the art of tracking. Countless days were spent on horseback and foot, learning the ancient science of tracking but also learning about the fauna and flora of the Kalahari.
Alwyn returned to Botswana as a 19 year old, to come and work in the safari industry, from where he set up his own operation and is now able to accompany and lead people into this ancient land called the Kalahari. His love for the Kalahari and her people runs as deep as the sand itself.
Alwyn has also led mobile safaris into Northern Botswana for decades. He has a deep understanding and familiarity with the Okavango Delta and its surroundings and is an avid photographer in the region.
Tourists who opt for a desert or delta safari options will discover the rich and varied wildlife and landscapes of this unique country and its people.
Matsebe Safaris offers three types of bespoke mobile safari - each option caters to various requirements and budgets.
